7amleh participated in this year’s UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025, held in Norway, through the contribution of our EU Advocacy Officer, Taysir Mathlouthi, in the workshop titled “Applying International Law Principles in the Digital Space.”
This workshop brought together leading experts to explore how international legal frameworks can be effectively applied to state behavior and the protection of human rights in digital environments.
Together, they explored state responsibility in the digital space, human rights in digital contexts, content moderation and state obligations, and the complex jurisdictional challenges of our interconnected world. This workshop is part of a global policy initiative led by the Danish Institute for Human Rights and the International Commission of Jurists under the Digital Democracy Initiative, aiming to develop robust legal principles to counter human rights harms in the digital civic space.
Taysir Mathlouthi also joined RNW Media for a workshop to present our work in developing ethical AI solutions aimed at mitigating algorithmic bias in global majority and crisis-affected contexts. Our AI models consider the local language disparities and the cultural contexts to not reproduce stereotypes and bias we often see in Global North LLMs.
Also Jalal abu khater 7amleh advocacy Manager participated online in a session under the title main session Best Practice Forum (BPF) Securing Access to the Internet and Protecting Core Internet Resources in Contexts of Conflict and Crises.
